Covid-19 Updates

Oakland FlexTech Community:

School Year 2021/2022

Dear Families,

It is important to us that we hold classes face to face.  Therefore, at this time we have made the decision to mandate masks.  It is hard to tell right now if the recent spike in the number of positive cases is a momentary spike in the data or if this rise in positive cases will continue.  We will continue to review the Oakland County COVID-19 data daily, and continue to follow guidelines from the CDC.

Please check this page often for updates on the impact Covid-19 will have on schools.  We will update this page as information becomes available and decisions are made. We appreciate your patience as we work to create a safe and equitable educational experience for all of our students.

Safety and Precautions:

All Michigan schools are taking directives from the CDC and OCHD and must follow the strictest precautions to keep students, staff, and families safe. Additionally, all staff members will follow guidelines set by the CDC, Federal and Local government, and health officials to help prevent the spread of this virus.  Students will be expected to practice preventive strategies when visiting the school. As we receive more information we will update families via Alma notifications, newsletters, and website updates.

Social and Emotional Wellness

We want our families to consider the impact that these events may have social and emotional wellbeing.  Please read more about the indicators of emotional stress and what you can do to support yourself or your student here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/managing-stress-anxiety.html
